Skype
Make sure that the program is closed. Use the following instructions:
In the explorer, follow the path C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Find the Hosts text file in the folder, open it in any text editor (we recommend Notepad).
From the new paragraph, insert the following lines:
127.0.0.1 rad.msn.com
127.0.0.1 adriver.ru
127.0.0.1 api.skype.com
127.0.0.1 static.skypeassets.com
127.0.0.1 apps.skype.com
Save the changes with the combination “Ctrl” + “S”. Close the document.
In the explorer, follow the path C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Skype\NICKNAME_IN_SKYPE . If you don’t find any folder, turn on showing hidden files.
Similarly, use Notepad to open the file config.xml .
Find the parameters AdvertPlaceholder and AdvertEastRailsEnabled (if any). To quickly find the parameters, use the search (combination “Ctrl” + “F”). Put the value 0 inside them. An example is shown in the image below.
Save the changes with the combination “Ctrl” + “S”. Close the file.
